Mary Grace Hubley, a kindergarten teacher at St, Mary’s Catholic School received the 2016 Em Knipmeyer Excellence in Teaching Award.
This award goes to a teacher that has worn many hats at St. Mary’s for 8 years. A native of Shreveport, she holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Northwestern State University. Hubley has helped coach various sports, including track and cross-country. She is the sponsor of the school’s Running Club. She is described as someone who always has the best interest of the school and students at heart.
Em. W. Knipmeyer was the principal of St. Mary’s from 1975 – 1979 and again in 1980. Her sister and her family established the award.
