Families hunt for the perfect trees for Christmas

From the best selling Leyland Cypress to the aromatic Red Cedar, 4 Seasons Christmas Tree Farm has a selection of Christmas trees to fit in any home this holiday season.

“It depends on what the customers are looking for,” said Owner Camille Moran. “We have humongous Virginia Pines and smaller Blue Spruce that don’t require a lot of pruning.”
Moran opened the farm in 2011. Growing up with an artificial tree, Camille always wanted the real deal. She’d watch commercials and movies where families picked out the perfect tree and cut it down. Opening the farm is her way to offer families the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a live tree.

“There’s nothing better than watching the happiness on the children’s faces as they watch the tree fall. I wanted to bring a family atmosphere to Natchitoches,” she said. “Christmas is all about the family spending time together. Everyone is so busy nowadays and it’s nice to have a live tree they can share every year.”

Speaking of trees, the farm plants around 500 trees each year. They will be open through Dec. 18 on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. until dark, Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. Check the farm regularly to see what specials are running.
There will also be fall produce, wreaths and Frazier Firs. The Frazier Firs cannot be grown in Louisiana and are shipped in from North Carolina, which means there’s a limited number available at the farm.
