Many gathered to celebrate the Taylor Family’s opening of Jokie’s Gallery Nov. 30 on St. Denis Street with music, food and local art in historic downtown Natchitoches.
In a building that’s been in the Taylor family for generations, the opening celebration exhibition featured eclectic works by local Louisiana artists. Jokie’s granddaughter, Kendra Taylor, manages the gallery.
“We really would like to see artist of different styles coming together to show their work and to celebrate in an upscale environment,” says Taylor. “Jokie’s Gallery is a place of observation and appreciation of her contribution to the art community and love of art.”

Mary Louise Porter would be a good local artist to showcase
Mary Louise’s work is at Jokie’s Gallery and also at Artspace in Shreveport.
Great job! And congratulations to all involved, with a special thanks to the Taylor family.
