On Wednesday morning December 7th, at approximately 12:04am, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division were patrolling on US-71 near La. Hwy 480 in Campti, when they stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer for a traffic violation.
During the traffic stop, deputies learned the vehicle operator was driving under suspension.
Two additional passengers were in the vehicle-one identified as Britney Leah Hines, of Boyce, La.
Deputies say while speaking with the vehicle occupants, they appeared to be uneasy and had conflicting stories which led deputies to believe criminal activity existed.
Deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered and seized two suspected ecstasy pills, a container containing approximately 0.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a glass smoking apparatus commonly used to smoke illicit narcotics and a snorting straw.
As a result, deputies arrested:
Britney Leah Hines, 30, of 67 Johnson Avenue, Boyce, La., was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule I Ecstasy, Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Hines remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting.
Deputies say while interviewing Hines she confessed to ownership and use of the seized narcotics.
The suspected narcotics will be submitted to the crime lab for analysis.
The vehicle operator was issued a citation for Driving under Suspension .
The driver and other passenger were released without criminal charges.
Deputies J. Augustus and D. Caballero were involved in the arrest.
