Marthaville man turns himself in in connection with Vowells Mill burglary

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Marthaville man in connection with a residential burglary near the Vowells Mill community in west Natchitoches Parish, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

NPSO Patrol Division deputies responded to a residential burglary in the 100 block of Tom Brister Road near Vowells Mill Nov. 28 at 8:31 a.m. They learned entry had been gained through the front door.

An inventory of the residence by the homeowner revealed a 5-gallon jug and piggy bank containing $800 in coins was stolen. Deputies referred the case to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division for investigative purposes.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified a suspect as Albert F. Graves Jr., 50, of the 100 block of Eddie Williams Road in Marthaville.

Detectives obtained a criminal arrest warrant for Graves, but he eluded deputies Dec. 2 after they went to his residence in Marthaville.

Graves turned himself in Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. He was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with one-count of Simple Burglary.

Graves remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.
