Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to the Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College and the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System.
Natchitoches resident Lola W. Dunahoe will serve as an at-large member on the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System. She is the office manager for the Dunahoe Law Firm, LLC. Ms. Dunahoe received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State University and holds a lifetime teacher certification.
The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System is responsible for supervising and managing the following universities: Grambling State University, Louisiana Tech University, McNeese State University, Nicholls State University, Northwestern State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of Louisiana at Monroe, and University of New Orleans.
Other members include: Thomas M. Kitchen, of Metairie, is the former president and CEO of Stewart Enterprises Inc. Mr. Kitchen received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of New Orleans. He will serve as a representative of the 1st Congressional District.
Alejandro R. “Al” Perkins, of Prairieville, is an attorney and partner with Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice, LLP, and an adjunct professor at Southern University Law Center. Mr. Perkins received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. He will serve as a representative of the 6thCongressional District.
Elizabeth G. “Liz” Pierre, of Monroe, is an attorney and the senior vice-president of research and legal at the North Louisiana Economic Partnership. Ms. Pierre received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Louisiana Lafayette and a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. She will serve as a representative of the 5th Congressional District.
