Velocity Urgent Care Treatment Center in Natchitoches offers more than a quick doctor’s visit. Besides broadening their operating hours from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., the Center offers compassionate and effective healthcare with little to no wait.
“In today’s fast paced society people are looking for a ‘quick fix’ when they’re sick or injured. We provide that, and much more, while paying close attention to what needs they may express,” said Velocity Urgent Care Provider John Messier PA-C.
Messier graduated from the LSUHSC PA program in 2000. He then earned a Masters in Family Practice. Prior to PA school he worked as a respiratory therapist after graduating from the LSUHSC Cardiopulmonary Science program in 1994.
He practiced 15 years in family practice, one year hospital based internal medicine, and has 10 years of emergency medicine/urgent care experience. He is also an ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS Provider.
Messier is also a combat veteran who served as a Captain in the Louisiana Army National Guard, including a tour in Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan and Task Force Katrina.
“At Velocity Care our philosophy is to treat every patient, every time with compassion and competence,” said Provider Aaron Chauvin. “I take the time to discuss any concerns patients may have with regard to their diagnosis, treatment options, and recommended follow up. We believe in the concept that a pleasant experience at our facility will ensure that you return to us for care if you ever need treatment in the future.”
Chauvin graduated from the LSUHSC PA program in 1996. He earned his Masters in PA studies in 2001. He worked at the Emergency Room at LSU from 1996-2003. His work experience also includes:
· Director of Clinical Medicine at the LSUHSC School of Allied Health PA program from 2003-2005
· General Surgery PA from 2005-2007
· Emergency Medicine and Urgent Treatment Medicine from 2007 to present day
“In my 20 years as a PA practicing in both Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care treatment centers I have no doubt that the most courteous, conscientious, and caring employees are right here at Velocity Urgent Treatment Center,” said Chauvin. “Our employees treat patients as though they’re treating their own family members and I am proud to be a part of this great company.”
