Axsom Air receives national recognition for community involvement

Axsom Air was recognized for its efforts to give back to the Natchitoches community at a Lennox National Dealer meeting in Orlando, Fla. March 16. Josh and Steve Axsom were presented with the prestigious 2017 Lennox Community Award for involvement in their community.

It all started in December 2016 when Axsom Air launched a program called “Heat the Town.” The company took nominations on its Facebook page for individuals who needed their heaters repaired or serviced, but couldn’t afford it. Axsom Air team members volunteered their time and, in partnership with Lennox (a premium AC brand), they blessed people with the gift of heat, just in time for Christmas.

Steve and Josh Axsom said the experience was very rewarding personally to their guys. To be able to meet real needs was a wonderful experience.

In February Josh Axsom was contacted by Lennox Corporate, which was sending a film crew to Natchitoches. Lennox said they loved AxsomAir’s “Heat the Town” program and wanted to create a short documentary about it.

“It was a humbling experience,” said Josh Axsom.

The documentary focused on Myesha House who received a new furnace courtesy of AxsomAir and Lennox after hers was found to be irreparable.

While at the Lennox National Dealer meeting, Axsom Air also won the Centurion Award, which means the company is in the top 6 percent as a premier Lennox dealer nationwide for quality service training.

“We weren’t looking for recognition,” said Steve Axsom, “We are just blessed to have a great team and we love our community.”
