Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies along with Natchitoches Parish Fire District #1 with mutual aid assistance from Natchitoches Parish Fire Districts #4 and #6 responded to 911 reports of a structure fire in the 600 block of Cat Island Road near Derry June 23 at 2:12 pm.

Deputies say fire units remained on scene over two hours attempting to contain the fire which caused heavy fire and smoke damage to the residence.
The residence was reportedly owned by S. Beaudion of Derry.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue.

There were no injuries.
