NMJDTF Agents arrest Natchitoches woman on narcotics charges

According to a Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Official, Shecola Matthews, 27 of Natchitoches, was taken into custody July 3 at a residence in the 1400 block of Dixie Street in Natchitoches by NMJDTF agents. The agents were assisting the Natchitoches Police Department in reference to a disturbance. During this investigation agents located on the suspects person approximately 2.5 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, 19 suspected Ecstasy tablets and syringes used to inject illegal narcotics.

NMJDTF agents then went to a residence in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue where Matthews was staying and conducted a search of the residence for other illegal narcotics. During this search agents located suspected drug paraphernalia used in the packaging, distribution, and use of illegal narcotics and various medications that are illegal to posses without a physician’s prescription.

Shecola Matthews was placed in NPDC and charged with the following offenses:
R.S. 40:966A Possession of CDS I (Ecstasy) With Intent to Distribute
R.S. 40:967A Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamine) With Intent to Distribute
R.S. 40:1238.1 Possession of a Legend Drug (5 Counts)
R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
