Nine people from Natchitoches and one from Pineville traveled to Las Vegas this weekend and bowled in the USBC Open Championship, which has been going on daily since February with 60,000-90,000 bowlers throughout the six months. Dwayne Brossette bowled a 630 series without handicap and is currently the national champion in the classified division with one week to go.
“That is incredible and Natchitoches should be very proud, said Lee Waskom. “We will not know until next week whether or not his championship position will stand.”
Other participants from Natchitoches were Stanley Flenniken, Lee Waskom, Ginny Waskom, Aaron Delecerda, James Delecerda, Zackary Baer, Clint Shelton, Jimmy Farmer, and James Douglas from Pineville. Bowling events competed in were teams, doubles and singles. Aaron Delacerda took in the job of coordinating the teams.
My wife and I got to watch and cheer for the Natchitoches Bowlers. What a great group of people!
