Natchitoches Central High School will begin school Monday, Aug. 14. Teachers and support personnel report back to school Wednesday, Aug. 9. The faculty and staff are excited about this coming school year, according to Principal Bill Gordy.
The school has made strides forward in many areas:
State testing scores are up from last year
The school graduation rate is above the state standard
Program for Juniors that will help increase their ACT test scores
Programs available to help tutor students in an effort to be successful at NCHS
There are also new Head Coaches in several sports. Tommy Moore is the Head Football coach. There has been a large turn-out for summer conditioning drills. Coach Moore and his staff are excited about the coming season.
The NCHS Jamboree is scheduled for Aug. 24-25 at Turpin Stadium.
Ronald Abels will be the new Softball coach. Richard Partridge will be the new baseball coach. There is a scheduled meeting for the baseball team at NCHS on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 6 pm in the school atrium.
