  1. The passing of dear Joella for the Natch coming is so very devasting. My heart is heavy.I hope our prayers will help to strengthen the Shield and Fowler family during this time and many days to come, due to her absence. Know that she was loved and respected for the assistance she provided to others and her work on the Natch Parish School Board. She fought for the kids in her community and other kids in the city, in an effort to ensure they received a good education and equality. She was a strong, Christian woman, who loved her family and people in general. I pray the community will not allow her work and efforts to be in vain. Love you Joella, RIH.

  10. A tribute to a lady that lived the words of this song!

If I can help somebody, as I pass along,
If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song,
If I can show somebody, that he’s travelling wrong,
Then my living shall not be in vain.

My living shall not be in vain,
Then my living shall not be in vain
If I can help somebody, as I pass along,
Then my living shall not be in vain.

If I can do my duty, as a good man ought,
If I can bring back beauty, to a world up wrought,
If I can spread love’s message, as the Master taught,
Then my living shall not be in vain.

The life you lived,June was certainly not in vain!!

  15. The passing of Joella is devastating news for the Natchitoches community and the Natchitoches Parish School Board. She was, in my opinion, the epitome of Christian character. She was my friend and a friend to all who knew her. My heart and prayers are with her family.
