On August 14, 2017, all six Head Start centers welcomed their new classes of children for the 2017-2018 school year. This is an exciting time of the year for administrators, teachers, staff and children who attend the classes.

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Chriscella Metoyer has been named to the position of Interim Head Start Program Director. Ms. Metoyer comes to the position with an impressive list of qualifications and has been recognized as being qualified by the Louisiana Department of Education.

Ms. Metoyer will serve under Ms. Sharon Harris, Executive Director of the Parish Office of Community Services and Head Start. She will serve in this position as a temporary employee until the Head Start Program Director position has been filled.

The Parish has advertised the Director position with an application deadline of September 1, 2017. The applications will be reviewed and qualified candidates will be interviewed. We anticipate the employment of the new Director by the end of October.
