Effective August of this year, offenders housed at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and their families have a new and convenient way to fund their facility accounts. Roger Henson, Chief of Corrections at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center, announces that the facility has entered into a partnership with auto pay solutions provider; TouchPay, LLC.
According to Chief Henson, an auto pay platform provides a more secure method of making deposits than the old way which required families to mail or physically deliver Money Orders to the facility.
“It also allows the staff to track those deposits more efficiently,” said Henson. “This new technology advancement will be a positive attribute to both the offenders and our facility.” Chief Henson explained that these accounts are used by the offenders to purchase phone time as well as various items from the facility’s commissary. “Having the ability to speak to loved ones and purchase some convenience items can make serving time more tolerable for all concerned,” he said.
The TouchPay automated system offers families the ability to fund accounts over the phone by dialing (866) 232-1899, online at TouchPay.com (www.gtlfsonlinepay.com) or at the facility Kiosk located in the lobby of NPDC during business hours.
Although the platform has been implemented since mid-August, the facility will continue receiving Money Orders through Sept. 15. “We believe this will allow families time to become familiar with the process,” said Henson.
