LaCap Senior Spotlight: Jacob Bellow

LaCap Senior Spotlight recognizes Jacob Bellow of Natchitoches Central High School as an outstanding high school senior. Jacob was on the Principal’s List his sophomore and junior year at NCHS. He played on the Varsity Basketball which won the 5A State Championship. The team was honored with a trophy and Jacob and his team mates received personal champion rings. During his junior year, Jacob was invited to participate in a literary rally where he received a score of 797 in American History E.O.C. In his senior year Jacob participated as a Library Teacher’s Assistant, maintained a 3.8 GPA and completed dual enrollment at Northwestern State University in English 1020.

Jacob is a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle. He volunteers at the annual church fair and through the Divine Providence Mission, where he delivers school backpacks for the Back-to-School Supply Drive. He also helps out with the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church’s Fair and Trail Ride in Cloutierville.

Other activities include summers at the Emory Jones Cattle Company LLC, working around 700 head of cattle. He cuts, rakes and bails hay covering 4,000 acres of land around Cane River. He also performs ground maintenance on the farm property, cutting grass and weed eating.

In addition to this work, Jacob also assists Cane River Waterslides and Inflatables LLC with delivery, set up and tear down and runs his own business doing landscaping.

LaCap believes it takes good grades, community involvement, and hard work to make a successful leader. Jacob is being recognized for these qualities.
