Local Head Start centers participated in Head Start Awareness Month during the week of Oct. 16-19. The month celebrates 53 years that Head Start has been in existence. Local law enforcement, members in the community, and Head Start families helped to celebrate the momentous occasion. Head Start serves over 309 students in the Parish which include MLK Head Start, Breda Town Head Start, NSU Head Start, Campti Head Start, Natchez Head Start, and Mansfield Head Start. Activities that took place included a parade, a canned food drive, and a book writing contest.
