‘A Rockin’ Louisiana Christmas’ returns to Natchitoches

A Rockin’ Louisiana Christmas concert, which was a huge hit in Natchitoches last year, is returning to the Natchitoches Events Center on Dec. 21 at 7 pm. The event is being presented by the Natchitoches Jazz and R&B Festival.

The concert will feature Natchitoches show band Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs along with special guests Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Burton, Grammy winning Zydeco legends Wayne Toups and Jo-el Sonnier, and the legendary Estelle Brown of Elvis Presley’s backing group, The Sweet Inspirations.

Burton said that the decision to present the show again was a no brainer. “We all had such a fantastic time last year and got such an amazing turnout and crowd reaction, we all wanted to come back and do the show again.”

Toups said that, while the show would be similar to the one that was presented last year, there would be lots of surprises as well. “Oh, you are going to see some different stuff for sure,” said Toups. “When we all get together there ain’t no tellin’ what is going to happen.”

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP tickets which include preferred seating and a meet and greet and photo opportunity with the artists.

Tickets may be purchased at The Harrington Law Firm and several area banks.  Tickets will soon be available online at www.natchjazzfest.com.

  1. Just saying I would love to attend this gig,it will definitely be a awesome show, however many cannot attend being it is on a Wednesday evening an many have to work the next day.id like to see it on a Friday where many more could attend that could not during the week.It would certainly bring in a lot more revenue monatarily.
