Update: Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Jaterion Rainey, Derrick Rainey and a juvenile in connection with yesterday’s shooting. Jaterrion Rainey and Derrick Rainey were charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property; both were placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. The juvenile was also charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property and was placed in WARE Youth Detention Center. This investigation is ongoing at this time.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on December 28, 2017 the Natchitoches Police Department received a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Stella Street.

NPD officers responded to the area and began an investigation. As a result of the investigation the following subjects are wanted: Derrick Rainey, 22 year old black male and Jaterrion Rainey, 17 year old black male. Also wanted is a 16 year old black male juvenile.

These subjects are wanted for attempted first degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

The Natchitoches Police Department is asking for your assistance in locating these suspects. Warrants for their arrest have been signed by a Natchitoches Parish Judge. No injuries were reported in this incident.
