Dr. Luster announces the expansion of services offered at Cane River Family Medicine. Beginning Jan. 2 his office will perform DOT and non-DOT drug screenings. This includes breath alcohol, and hair and urine screenings.

The office also performs physicals required by some companies. Cane River Family Medicine makes it easy and convenient by offering all-in-one services.

I saw this was a service needed by the community and wanted to fill that role,” said Dr. Luster.

Dr. Luster is a Natchitoches native, with deep roots in the community. He is licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and board certified in Family Medicine. He is also licensed to perform DOT Commercial Driver’s Examination and is the only FAA Aviation Medical Examiner in Natchitoches. He has a particular interest in preventative care and wound care.

Karen Rachal is the director of occupational medicine and drug testing. She is certified for all drug screenings and has 10 years experience working in this field.

“It’s important that we offer this service locally,” she said. “It makes it convenient for the public.”

The office serves the Natchitoches, Many, Winnfield and Shreveport areas. Screening services are available to anyone who needs pre-employment, post-accident, random checks or return to duty.
