Registration is now open for the 2018 Winter session of JoySounds Music Together classes for children ages birth-5 years and the grownups who love them! The classes will be taught by NSU Associate Professor of Music Education and Elementary/Early Childhood Music Specialist Dr. Sharon Joy.
“I am thrilled to be teaching Music Together classes for very young children here in Natchitoches,” said Joy. “This is a wonderful early childhood music program that is research-based, joyful, and lots of fun.”
The classes will be on Thursdays from 4:15-5 pm at the Spark Studio on Keyser Avenue.
The classes will officially begin on Thursday, Jan. 18, although there will be a free demo class on Jan. 11.
The Music Together® philosophy is based on the belief that all children are musical. Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and the adults who love them. These classes involve both children and parents or other caregivers in informal singing, chanting, moving, listening, and instrument playing activities that are developmentally appropriate for very young children.
“Children and their parents love these classes,” said Joy, “They get the opportunity to have quality musical family time, when they can leave their daily stresses and simply enjoy making music with their little ones.”
Continuing the activities at home is made easier by the CD, songbook, parent education materials, and access to online resources, all included in the tuition. Go to http://www.joysoundsmusictogether.com to read about this wonderful program, register for the session, pay online, and register for the demo class! There’s a great video on the Gallery page, too! There is a discount for siblings over 7 months and siblings who are 7 months and younger on the first day of class can attend for free!
Space is limited in these classes, so register soon!
