A Shreveport bookstore was standing room only as Coushatta native and first time author Mary Lashonda Webber made a stop on her multi-city book tour to read excerpts from her new book “Miracles Still Happen… Trust Me.”

Ms. Webber currently makes her home in Holly, Michigan but has stayed in touch with her Red River roots as evidenced by the large contingent from her childhood church, Zion Chapel Baptist Church. Pastor Eddie Ross and about 50 Zion Chapel members made the trip to Shreveport to see her presentation. Throughout the trials and travails of her life’s journey, she has remained grounded in the ethos of hard work, faith and family that she grew up with in the Springville community of Coushatta, Louisiana.

Her book takes the reader from her childhood as the second of 6 children in the Webber family on Postell Road in Coushatta through career success, a family of her own and a recently started business. Along the way, she overcomes all manner of setbacks and obstacles. Armed with determination, unshakable faith and the values of hard work and family, she met the challenges and overcame them. Her story is a truly inspirational one!
