Rotary Club recognizes Student of the Month, learns about Natchitoches Farmer’s Market

Lakeview High School Senior Skyler Williams was honored by Rotary Club of Natchitoches Student of the Month Coordinator Tommy Melder at the Feb. 27 meeting. ROTC Instructor Major Bob Kellogg introduced Skyler and praised her Junior ROTC 1st Lieutenant Cadet status among her many other accomplishments. Natchitoches Farmer’s Market Coordinator Valerie Balthazar and Community Programs Manager Dallas Russell spoke to the Club about the many activities they’ve created since 2014 for adults and children. Eugene Spillman received the Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow Award from Natchitoches Regional Medical Center CEO Kirk Soileau and Rotary Club of Natchitoches President David Zolzer. The Paul Harris Fellow Program recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. The honor was established in 1957 to show appreciation for contributions that support the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant (Photos by Dr. Ron McBride).
