2018 Spring Scholars’ Day

An accomplished group of 61 high school students and their families, including two from Natchitoches parish schools and 3 from the LSMSA, came to hear more about the Louisiana Scholars’ College at the school’s Spring Scholars’ Day held at NSU’s Morrison Hall Saturday, March 10. The students attended sample classes and a panel discussion with current students, while their parents had their own panel. NSU’s school of Creative and Performing Arts also held auditions for theater and musical scholarships.

The Louisiana Scholars’ College was founded in 1987 as the state’s only designated honors college. It features a great books based curriculum with small class sizes averaging 15 students per class. The school’s students excel in not just academics, but in every aspect of campus life from athletic teams to Greek life and student government. The college offers a superb education at a modest price compared to private universities and colleges.

Steven Niette is the recruiter for the Louisiana Scholars’ College. He may be reached at 318-357-5567 or 318-663-0126.
