Louisiana Probation and Parole agents conducted a compliance check Feb. 22 on Ty Metoyer who was on parole. Upon arriving at Metoyer’s residence in the 1000 block of Welch Street, agents came into contact with Metoyer and his 7-year-old son in the front yard. Agents could smell the odor of marijuana around the front porch area and detained Metoyer.
Due to possible parolee/probation violations including possible consumption of drugs, LA P&P requested assistance from Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force agents for a compliance search of Metoyer’s address.
Agents located to following:
14 grams (or 1/2 ounce) of suspected Methamphetamine
Suspected Xanax (Alprazolam) tablet
Functioning electronic scale
$459 on Metoyer’s person
Metoyer was placed under arrest and transported to the NMJDTF Office for a post-arrest interview. Metoyer claimed sole ownership of the recovered evidence. He was then booked at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on the following charges:
Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of CDS Schedule IV (Alprazolam)
Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile
Second or Subsequent Offense
Agents learned Metoyer had more narcotics, namely Marijuana, at his residence that wasn’t located. During an additional search at the residence Agents came in contact with Metoyer’s girlfriend, Schnesha Braxton, who lived at the residence and Zantari Smith. Agents had extensive experience with Smith and were aware that Smith was on Probation for previous narcotic distribution convictions. Agents informed both subjects of the search warrant.
Agents located the following:
• Two clear bags of suspected marijuana (2 ounces)
A small clear bag of suspected Methamphetamine on Smith’s person
Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the NMJDTF Office for a post-arrest interview. Smith was searched again and was found to be concealing a bag that contained 68 suspected Ecstasy (MDMA) tablets. Smith stated the Methamphetamine and Ecstasy belonged to him. He was then booked at the DC on the following charges:
Possession CDS Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS Schedule I (MDMA)
Second or Subsequent offense
Metoyer said the newly located suspected Marijuana belonged to him.
