According to a Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Official, Mark Casson B/M 32, was taken into custody March 29 at his residence on the 100 block of Amanda St. in Natchitoches by LA Probation and Parole agents and NMJDTF Agents.
Probation and Parole agents were conducting a compliance check on Casson in reference to citizen complaints of illegal narcotics being sold from his residence. LA Probation and Parole agents requested the assistance of the NMJDTF due to the narcotics complaint and Casson being on Parole for weapons charges. Upon approaching the home Casson fled out the rear door of the residence and was quickly apprehended by NMJDTF agents. A search of Casson incident to his arrest yielded approximately 10 grams of suspected powder cocaine, 88 suspected Ecstasy pills, approximately 3.7 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and approximately 1 gram of suspected crack cocaine.
Agents then searched the residence of Casson and located approximately 13.4 ounces of suspected synthetic marijuana along with drug paraphernalia used in distributing and using illegal narcotics.
While handcuffed and under arrest Casson again tried to flee on foot and was once again quickly apprehended.
Casson was placed in NPDC and charged with the following:
– 2 counts of Possession of CDS I with Intent to Distribute (Synthetic Marijuana, Ecstasy)
– 3 counts of Possession of CDS II with Intent to Distribute (Cocaine, Crack Cocaine and Crystal Methamphetamine)
– Second or subsequent offenses
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– Attempted Simple Escape
– Obstruction of Justice
– Parole violation
