Two students from LSMSA were selected as finalists in the 38th annual College and High School Photography Contest sponsored by Photographer’s Forum magazine.
Photographs from William Casey, a junior from Baton Rouge, and Collin Serigne, a junior from Cut Off, will be published in the hardcover book “Best of College & High School Photography 2018.”
More than 12,000 photographs were submitted by students in the United States, Canada and around the world.
Casey entered the contest after being encouraged to by Marcus Journey, instructor of visual arts at LSMSA.
“Being chosen as a finalist was pretty exciting,” said Casey. “It was nice to have our work recognized by other well-respected photographers.”
He has spent a lot more time with photography this semester and may want to pursue it to some degree in college.
“I have strong interests in journalism, which definitely could go along with my abilities in photography,” said Casey.
