Natchitoches Police Department Patrol officers were dispatched to 750 Front Street (Hana Sushi Bar), in reference to a subject discharging a firearm on April 8 at 2:15 am.

Upon arrival, NPD officers came into contact with Zachary Allred (W/M, 26 years old). Allred, suspected of being intoxicated, was found in possession of an illegally concealed pistol.

After further investigation, it was determined that Allred fired two shots in the air outside the restaurant due to him being irate concerning personal property he claimed was missing. Spent shell casings were recovered by NPD officers as evidence.

Allred was placed under arrest and charged with disturbing the peace by public intoxication, illegal carrying of a weapon, discharging a firearm in the city limits and possession of a firearm on premises of alcoholic outlet. Allred was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center where he remains incarcerated.

NPD reminds citizens to inform themselves of all laws concerning the proper carrying of firearms.

  1. Every American has a right to be armed. Thanks to the 2nd amendment. BUT it is irresponsible fools like this that makes it hard for law abiding citizens across the country to exercise their rights. Weapons and alcohol do not mix. Had he been issued a permit to carry concealed he would have known the laws concerning what businesses are prohibited and certainly not to discharge his weapon if there was no threat to his life. My advice is grow up.
