The Natchitoches Police Department received a complaint of a battery committed at the park on Hampton Street on April 30 at 6:30 pm. NPD officers made contact with a juvenile victim and his grandmother. The victim stated that while he was at the basketball court Lamontrae Scott struck him in the eye area with a closed fist. The victim had a cut above his eye and was transported to the hospital by a family member to receive treatment for his injury.

Lamontrae Scott, 30, was arrested by NPD Investigators on May 1 in connection with this incident. He was charged with second degree battery and placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
