Area youth raise funds for Shriners with lemonade stand

Kollyns Duhon, and her two best friends Sydney Culotta and Chanler Jordan will run a lemonade stand this summer with all proceeds going to the Shriner’s hospital of Shreveport. This wonderful hospital has been a part of Kollyns’ life since she was two months old and has been nothing short of amazing.

Kollyns is 7-years-old. She’s been going to Shreveport Shriners Hospital since June 2011. Kollyns was born a little early and tiny with a few special things about her that the doctors at Shriners needed to watch closely over the years. Her time spent there has always been fun and it’s the one doctors office where no kids are scared, but instead are having a good time.

“I believe it’s a place where no kid feels different and is reminded they can be and do anything they set their minds to,” she said.

The goal is to reach $500 by July 9. Anyone who is unable to come by in person can donate online at https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/Lemonade.
