The Natchitoches Farmers Market is a great place to find fresh, local produce. But, for anyone who can’t make it downtown on Saturdays through July 28, the market will travel!
The Natchitoches Mobile Market is part of Ready, Set, Go: the City’s initiative to improve the health and wellness of residents through a three part plan. It provides fresh, local fruits and vegetables from the City’s Community Garden and delivers them to different areas across town.
The Mobile Market will run through August 2 from 3:30-5:30 pm in conjunction with the Natchitoches Portable Park. Tuesdays it will be set up at Pierson Mallett Park on East Fifth Street and Thursdays it will be located at Ben Johnson Park on MLK Drive.
This summer will feature a new location at the Natchitoches Parish Library from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Fridays through August 3 (no program July 6). An additional location at City Park will be announced soon (produce will be available to purchase, but no tokens will be given out at the City Park location).
Don’t forget about Kids Club, which provides free tokens equivalent to $5 for kids to spend on fruits and vegetables.
