Car bursts into flames after crashing into house

 

 

The Natchitoches Fire Department received a report of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Second and Bossier Streets on June 12 at 1:30 pm. The caller advised at that time that the vehicle was on fire.

NFD units responded to the scene, and upon arrival, discovered that the vehicle that was on fire had struck a house. Natchitoches Police Department had personnel on scene that were attempting to keep the fire from spreading from the vehicle to the house.

NFD personnel extinguished the fire.

The house suffered moderate damage to the front porch from being struck by the vehicle. Access to the house had to be restricted until it was determined to be structurally safe.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured. The house that was struck was unoccupied at the time of the incident. NRMC Ambulance, The City of Natchitoches Utility and Public Works departments also assisted in mitigating this call.
