Cane River Creole National Historical Park’s Magnolia Plantation Unit will remain open to visitors during the closure of a section of Highway 119. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has officially closed a section of Highway 119 leading to Magnolia Plantation from the north due to concerns about road safety. All visitor access to Magnolia Plantation will be from the south from Highway 1.
Park Superintendent said: “We’re working collaboratively with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to ensure that the residents of the local communities and our visitors still have access to the National Park Service property at Magnolia Plantation. We’ve identified that the safest route to reach the park is from the south, from Hwy 1, and encourage all to come visit the buildings and grounds at Magnolia.”
The Magnolia Plantation’s grounds are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
