Northwestern State University’s Cammie G. Henry Research Center is hosting a display titled “30 Years of Steel Magnolias” based on the beloved 1989 movie filmed in Natchitoches. Assistant Archivist Sharon Wolff organized and developed the exhibit which will run through August. The display features a variety of memorabilia from the movie as well as its filming in our community. Visitors can see scripts, 2 scrapbooks donated by author and screenwriter Bobby Harling and other items. “30 Years of Steel Magnolias” is a true treat for fans of this iconic movie. Come and see the story behind how it was made.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Northwestern State University’s Cammie G. Henry Research Center is open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 to noon on Friday. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
