Sherri Voebel, MLIS

Northwestern State University has a new Head of Reference , Sherri Voebel, MLIS. Ms. Voebel hails from Houston and graduated from LSU in 1996. She is a career librarian who has managed libraries in three countries: Iwakuni in Japan, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, as well as several in the United States. She joined the NSU Demon faculty this July. Her hobbies include sailing, horseback riding, barrel racing and gourmet cooking.

Among her duties, she will supervise the Federal Government Document Repository housed at the NSU Watson Memorial Library. The Depository, established in 1887 is the oldest one in Louisiana. The library’s reference section holds a truly remarkable range of resources for our university’s students faculty and the general public. Ms. Voebel and her staff stand ready to help with your research needs.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal would like to take this opportunity to welcome Sherri Voebel to our community and wish her every success in her academic career.
