2018 Advance Program-30 Years of Academic Excellence

2018 Advance Program (2)

One-hundred thirty two young scholars from six states arrived at NSU July 8th for the start of a three week academic adventure. The popular Advance Program, now in its 30th year, is a fast paced three week residential program designed for young people aged 12 to 17. The participants choose from a menu of 13 courses taught by faculty members such as Dr. Davida McClain from Scholars’ College who will be teaching a course on Mythology. The students’ time away from class will be filled with fun social activities, arts and crafts as well as more opportunities to learn. Each student in the program will have the opportunity to earn college credit, expand their horizons, meet new friends, get a head start on their future-and have fun while doing so.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes to welcome these young people to our community and extends its best wishes for a happy and productive summer!
