Clancey Stewart is Named the 2018-2019 Louisiana State Fiddle Champion

Ms. Clancey Stewart performed before an enthusiastic crowd at the main stage of the NSU Folklife Festival after being named the Louisiana State Fiddle Champion Saturday, July 21st.

The Louisiana State Fiddle Championship is hosted by the Folklife Festival and features musicians from every corner of our state vying for top honors. Ms. Stewart won the Junior Division and then went on to win the Grand Division and the title of Louisiana State Fiddle Champion.

Ms. Clancey Stewart hails from Florien, LA and is a senior Business Administration Major at Northwestern State University. In addition playing the fiddle, she is an accomplished violinist and singer. The Natchitoches Parish Journal extends its best wishes to Clancey in her future endeavors, musical and otherwise, after her graduation from NSU.
