UPDATE: Burglary suspect now in custody

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies captured a burglary suspect July 23 while he hiding in a barn off Fish Hatchery Road near Natchitoches, according to Sheriff Victor Jones.

Brian K. Walker, 48, of Natchitoches is currently being transported to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center facing charges of Simple Burglary.

Deputies assigned to the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Divison, Corrections Division and a K-9 Unit assigned to the NMJDTF assisted in the search.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies along with Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Detectives on All Terrain Vehicles and a Tracking K-9 are searching an area in the 700 block of Fish Hatchery Road near Natchitoches for a burglary suspect who fled th scene of a residential burglary according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones.

Deputies have identified the suspect as 48-year-old Brian K. Walker of Natchitoches. Walker is described as a white male, 6’00” tall, 190 pounds with blondish-brown hair and green eyes.

Walker was last seen wearing green knee-length shorts and a black t-shirt.

Deputies began the search when a homeowner returned home in the 700 block of Fish Hatchery Road at approximately 8:34pm discovering his residence being burglarized by Walker who fled the area.

The stolen items have been recovered.

Natchitoches Detention Center Corrections Officers are also assisting in the search.
