Natchitoches’ Samuel Guy House was the scene of a lively celebration as Mayor Lee Posey was joined by members of the city council, friends, well wishers and members of the tourism and preservation communities in wishing Cynthia Sutton a long and happy retirement Thursday, Aug. 16. Sutton is retiring after 10 years at the helm of the Cane River National Heritage Area where she served as CEO and Director.

Mayor Posey presented Sutton with a print of the Roque House and a key to the city. She also received a quilt from the CRNHA Board and the City of Natchitoches. In her tenure at the CRNHA, she was a dynamic and transformational leader who left the city much better than she found it.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal extends its best wishes to Ms. Cynthia Sutton for a long, happy and well earned retirement!
