One of the American Cancer Society’s Tributes of Hope is Betsy Godfrey. In April of 2015, Betsy Godfrey was diagnosed with breast cancer. When she was told she had cancer, she didn’t miss a beat. She continued her busy lifestyle with a smile on her face. “I’m claiming it,” she said. Betsy taught in the Sabine Parish School System for over 30 years, serving as a second grade teacher, Principal, and Supervisor at the Sabine Parish School Board. With an upbeat personality, Betsy lives her life through service to others, especially children. Betsy is retired, resides in Many and is married to John P. Godfrey. Together, she and John have two children, John Godfrey and McCall McCullen.
