TNR Meeting looks to gauge community interest

NHS TNR Program
In an effort to ascertain interest in forming a trap, neuter/spay and release program for feral cats in Natchitoches Parish, the Humane Society will hold a meeting for interested parties Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m., at the City Municipal Building (Old Chamber of Commerce) 560 Second Street.

Discussion will be held of what would be needed from volunteers to make the program work as well as options for fundraising and grants.

The turnout for this meeting will determine whether the Humane Society will move forward with the program.

Address any questions to or contact the NHS via facebook.

  1. All you animal lovers, and I know there are a lot of you, join me in supporting this. Even if you hate animals, especially strays and ferals, come show your support. Trap Neuter Release programs drastically reduce the numbers of them because the animals can’t reproduce.
