  1. I wonder if that’s the same house on North Melrose that I called Animal Control about in March. I told Animal Control I even had video footage on my phone of the house and two young males on the property. I believed then and I still believe there’s a dog-fighting ring here in Natchitoches. A despicable thing in itself. People who are involved with dog-fighting, even those that watch it or bet on it, are low, vulgar, and disgraceful. The fact that the dead dog was restrained in the backyard proves the house was empty, and Jaquarious Calvin and his accomplices were using the empty house to their advantage. Maybe all of us should be more aware of what may be going on in houses that are for sale or abandoned.

My heart breaks for the dog that died either from injuries it got from fighting or from starvation. I dearly hope someone fosters and can save the other dog. Every animal deserves to be treated humanely. Mr. Calvin, I hope you go to prison and learn what suffering really is.
