Executive Director of the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts (LSMSA) Dr. Steve Horton shared the “fulfilling a dream” plans to build a first-class dormitory for the LSMSA students with the Natchitoches Rotary Club at its meeting Nov. 27. The new dorm, which is scheduled for an August 2021 opening, will include 10 “neighborhoods” spanning three towers and four stories and will include resident suites, laundry rooms, study lounges, housekeeping/recycling areas, a centralized reception desk and sundry shop, a spacious lobby, a demonstration kitchen with a small dining area, a nurse’s suite, small and large group study rooms, a guest suite for visiting lecturers or potential new students, a craft room, a game room, a student lounge, and a firepit.
