NPS- Cane River Creole National Historical Park will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 5 for a National Day of Mourning for George Herbert Walker Bush, 41st President of the United States. The Executive Order to close Federal offices will allow park employees to join with their fellow citizens in remembering President Bush.
The National Day of Mourning will occur on the day the former 94-year-old president, a World War II combat veteran, is remembered in a state funeral in Washington, D.C., six days after his death.
Cane River Creole NHP will re-open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.
