This week, the case of a 2012 arson at a Natchitoches Bed & Breakfast business ended with a plea deal in the 10th Judicial District Court.
On Monday, Dec. 10, 61-year-old Nancy L. Rogers, of Lafayette, entered a plea of guilty to one count of felony Obstruction of Justice, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Rogers was arrested on one count of Simple Arson in connection with a June 2012 fire at the Levy-East Bed & Breakfast, located in the 300 block of Jefferson Street in Natchitoches. The blaze caused more than $500,000 in damage to the unoccupied building and was determined to have been intentionally set.
The three-month long, multi-agency investigation, which included witness statements and evidence placing Rogers at the scene around the time of the fire, led to Rogers’ arrest.
The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office prosecuted the case. Rogers is scheduled for sentencing in February 2019.

Who owned the property at the time of the fire?
She did. It was an insurance fire deal. She could not pay for it. Also, she was removing antique furniture that was mortgaged from the house.
The East family, but it was set for auction because they lived out of state and the care taker is the one who set fire to it.
My question is why did she do this? Did this come out in court?
Any person that Destroys someone else’s property should be and eventually will be punished for their actions.
That photo just makes me mad 😡 and sad😥. I hope she gets the max. I loved that house and said if I ever had the money to buy it (Ha) it would be mine!! Ot was so representative of our beautiful town. 😥

Totally agree! 20 years is not enough! Being charged for obstruction of justice is a cop-out; she should have been convicted of arson, which, I suspect carries a longer possible sentence.
Throw the book at her. She didn’t just destroy a house, she destroyed history. A part of Natchitoches we can never get back.
