Museum exhibit shows Louisiana’s contribution to WWII

Northwestern State University alumna Mandi Mueller and her fellow Victory Belles performed Feb. 1 during the opening ceremony for an exhibit “The Pelican State Goes to War: Louisiana in World War II.” The exhibit will be on display at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum through March 15.

The Victory Belles are a delightful vocal trio performing the music of the 1940s, serenading audiences at the World War II Museum – New Orleans and across the globe. Community members enjoyed their performance and traded stories of family members and their experiences in the war.

Produced by The National WWII Museum, the exhibition features artifacts, photographs and oral histories that highlight Louisiana’s extraordinary contribution to America’s war efforts during World War II.

Mayor Lee Posey thanked everyone who was involved in helping to bring this exhibit to Natchitoches, which includes Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana State Museum and many more.
