Superior Livestock co-founder receives award, auction set for April 4-5 in Natchitoches

Jim Odle, Co-Founder of Superior Livestock, was the 2019 recipient of the Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame’s Industry Leadership Award, which he received at the National Cattle Convention on Jan. 29 in Baton Rouge.

In 1986, Jim founded Odle Auctions and then merged with Amarillo Livestock Auction and Amarillo Livestock Video Auction to create Superior Livestock Auction. This move created a nationwide livestock market for America’s cattlemen.

Odle always kept Superior in the forefront, pioneering video cattle auctions via satellite and the internet once it became a viable tool. While in June of 2007, Jim and his partners sold Superior Livestock Auction, Jim was asked to serve as General Manager and then as a management consultant.

The success and growth of Superior Livestock Auction is the result of its reputation for honesty and integrity, its qualified and professional staff and representatives, thousands of satisfied customers, its leadership role in industry innovations and its goal to be the best, most complete livestock marketing service in the industry.

Superior Livestock will auction 57,100 head of cattle at the Gulf Coast Classic Cattle Auction April 4-5 beginning at 7:30 am at the Events Center in Natchitoches. A sunrise begins at 7:30 am, and the auction will begin at 8 am. Over 500 cattlemen from across the country will attend the live video auction which will feature calves on cows, feeder cattle, weaned cattle, and bred stock cattle. All cattle will remain on the farm until delivery.
