College addresses two students deaths

It is with great sadness that Northwestern State University confirms the deaths of two students this week. The students passed away on Thursday, May 2, in separate unrelated incidents.

The students are Samuel A. Taylor, 46, of Natchitoches and Michael Robichaux, 24, of Pineville.

University Police Chief Craig Vercher said no foul play is suspected in either incident. According to Vercher, the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine causes of death.

Northwestern State president Dr. Chris Maggio said, “The entire Northwestern family is shocked and saddened by the sudden death of these students. Their families are in our thoughts and prayers, and the university will continue to provide assistance and support to the students’ friends and loved ones.”

  1. Prayers to both families. Samuel was one of the best Walmart Associates. He always took time to assist customers at Walmart and was the epitome of a great customer service associate
