Lakeview FFA holds annual banquet

Lakeview High School’s FFA banquet was held April 25. There were over 100 members, guests, and advisors were in attendance. The event recognized the chapter as well as individual accomplishments. This school year, Lakeview High School’s FFA chapter consisted of Teams that placed at the area and/or state levels were Floriculture, Nursery/Landscape, Public Speaking Career Development Events and State Literary Rally. Honored attendees of this year’s banquet included Eugean Garner (Natchitoches Parish School Board, District 7), William Hymes (Lakeview Jr./Sr. High School Principal), Brooklyn Hampton (State FFA President), William Gaspard (State area III Vice President) and Ruby Wood who earned Honorary Membership in the Lakeview FFA chapter. The banquet was organized by the Lakeview FFA officers: President Salem Johnson, Vice President Gracie Niette, Secretary Emily Windham, Reporter Joella Seay, Treasurer Zack Favela, Sentinel Karmen Jarriet, Chaplain Megan Corley, Parliamentarian Blake Smith, and Historian Averianna Slaughter. Salem Johnson, Gracie Niette, and Emily Windham received their State FFA Degree, and Cadie Coleman received the highest degree attainable, the American FFA Degree. Retiring officer, Ashely Womack (Vice President 2018-2019) was honored for her time and hard work put into the Lakeview FFA Chapter. The banquet ended by recognizing Senior, Ashley Womack.
