May is National Bike Month, celebrate at the Natchitoches Parish Library’s Northeast Branch (NEB) in Campti with their new free-to-use bike repair station! Anyone can come by with their bike, hang it on the rack, and work on it with the included tools mounted to the stand. You can even air up your tires if you need to.
“We noticed that there were a lot of patrons riding their bikes to the NEB,” says Jessica McGrath, Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) Director, “so we wanted to make sure they are able to keep coming.”
The NPL and NEB also have bike racks and locks that can be checked out to secure bicycles while riders make use of library services.
“We see a big jump in bike riders during the summer months, especially once school lets out,” says Alan Niette, NPL Community Outreach Coordinator. “We hope that these services will allow more to attend our Summer Reading Programs, starting at the end of May!”
Get ready for those fun summer rides and tune up your bike today at your local library!
